Modernized Christian texts — the church fathers in modern English
The Fathers, In Modern English
The first two centuries of Christian writing, carried sentence by sentence out of Victorian English and into the language you actually read in. Nothing is abridged, nothing is paraphrased, and the 1885 edition stays a click away on every page.

How it is done
Modernized, not rewritten.
A modernized text is the same text. The numbering still matches, the citations still land, and the original edition sits behind the version picker on every page — so anything that reads oddly can be checked against the sentence it came from.
- 01Read against the sourceEach chapter is taken from the Ante-Nicene Fathers edition already in the library, not from a summary of it.
- 02Carried one sentence at a timeSentence for sentence, so nothing is compressed away and the numbering still lines up with the original.
- 03Checked back against the originalThe result is compared to the source before it is published, and both editions ship together.
